MMO first-person shooter game for PC

Hired Ops is a free-to-play action game for PC by developer Absolut Soft LLC. It is a session-based first-person shooter wherein players are part of mercenary groups. They will take on various missions and engage in fierce firefights with other squads from all over the world.

Similar to Rainbow Six Siege or Insurgency: Sandstorm, Hired Ops emphasizes tactical gameplay based on realistic battle situations spread across unique locations and environments. The game offers multiple character classes, with an arsenal of weapons and gear to choose from that can be customized to suit all types of scenarios.

Gun for hire

In Hired Ops, you play as a mercenary for hire that takes on various missions that will take you to multiple locations and environments all over the world, except to have shootouts in train stations to military bases, and everything else in between. Accept contracts, special assignments, and outperform other groups to make a reputation for yourself in the highly volatile world of PMCs (Private Military Company).

There are four classes available in the game, each having a specific set of skills suited to various scenarios and situations. You have access to over 80 unique weapons and more than 100 different modules/attachments to customize them to your needs. There is also a dynamic contract system to take on any job you want. The harder the task, the higher the payout you will be able to receive.

There is also the in-match progression system that lets you monitor the situation on the battlefield in real-time, allowing you to adapt and change your tactics swiftly. The one thing to note here is that there have been numerous reports from other players of in-game cheaters that use aimbots to gain an unfair advantage. This issue is rather concerning, especially considering its multiplayer-focused gameplay and experience.

A mixed bag

Overall, Hired Ops is a decent multiplayer first-person shooter that offers solid gameplay and combat, all for free. It offers various classes to pick from and plenty of weapons and gear to customize them with. All that being said, the prevalence of in-game cheaters does sour the overall experience. If you're looking for a new MMO FPS game to play with friends, there are better options elsewhere.
